The Texas Air Resource Board says the state has a competitive air conditioning market, and the state needs to improve its efficiency to attract and retain business.
Texas Air Resources Commissioner Michael Bowers says air conditioners are the “central control and safety mechanism” in air conditioning in Texas.
He says if Texas doesn’t maintain its air conditioning system quality, then Texas can’t be a global market leader.
The board says the system has been improved and Texas is a world leader.
